Auld Acquaintance

The words of this motto, Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot are actually the first lines of a poem by the Scottish poet Robert Burns which inspired the song Auld Lang Syne. The model was stitched on tea dyed white paper.

All of our mottoes are charted for stitching on perforated paper with traditional textured stitches, just as the Victorians stitched them, and for completing the design using Cross stitch only which can be worked on fabric and also paper.

The mottoes shown on our website were all stitched on our large custom cut sheets of 14 count perforated paper with traditional textured stitches. You can also stitch any of the motto designs using only Cross stitch on perforated paper or fabric.

The larger size sheets of paper that we sell were specially cut for Dutch Treat. The larger size sheets are now only available in 12" x 22" white paper.
