One alphabet is worked in Four sided stitch which is only sen in samplers worked in the Orphan Homes in the 1860s. There are also lots of border bands. Maria's sampler also includes the Bristol Bible motif which is seen in about 90% of Bristol red samplers.
Maria Hancock stitched a lovely sampler.
