Home Sweet Home motto
This motto saying is the most traditional HSH (Home Sweet Home) style and saying from the American mottoes of the 1870's - 1880's. There are others, but this is the one that is the most popular. Now you too can stitch a motto to make your home sweet! The design is charted to be stitched on perforated paper, as the original piece was, or on fabric. Antique White or Vintage Country Cream from Zweigart are the best fabric colors for this design.
All of our mottoes are charted for stitching on perforated paper with traditional textured stitches, just as the Victorians stitched them, and for completing the design using Cross stitch only which can be worked on fabric and also paper.
We sell the threads for all of our motto designs even if they are not listed on this website. If you cannot find the threads locally please contact Dutch Treat directly.
