Welcome motto
This motto was worked on white tea dyed paper with rich jewel tone colors of thread. Many mottoes welcomed guests and family in to a home in the 1870's - 1880's.
All of our mottoes are charted for stitching on perforated paper with traditional textured stitches, just as the Victorians stitched them, and for completing the design using Cross stitch only which can be worked on fabric and also paper.
The mottoes shown on our website were all stitched on our large custom cut sheets of 14 count perforated paper with traditional textured stitches. You can also stitch any of the motto designs using only Cross stitch on perforated paper or fabric.
The larger size sheets of paper that we sell were specially cut for Dutch Treat. The larger size sheets are now only available in 12" x 22" white paper.
